Don’t Do It For Him, Do It For You

As I scroll around on the internet, I am seeing more and more of women doing this or that for their man. Now, before I get into this I want to leave a disclaimer: I am all about doing things for people. I used to dream of spending my life serving other women in underdeveloped parts of the world. I wake up in the mornings and bring Zach coffee. I do these things because they bring me joy. Making those around me happy in turn makes me happy. Here’s what I don’t do: I don’t change things about myself to try and please those around me. However, writing posts about “8 Underwear Brands College Girls Need, If Someone Else Is Going To See Them”, that starts to send the wrong message.

For women around me to be taught that each step you take needs to be influenced by another (most often men), then we are not doing our job as women. I have looked up to strong women such as my mom, sister-in-law, and step mom since the day each of them have stepped in to my life. As a result, I have become a strong woman. I wear lace underwear when I want to. I color my hair because I want to. I workout because I want to. None of these things get done solely because “I want to look better for Zach”.

Here’s some things I want every woman of every age to never forget.

You Don’t Owe Them Anything

I don’t care what anyone has told you, you don’t owe anyone but yourself anything. Everything you do should be for yourself. Because you want to. If you spend your life feeling like you owe someone a piece of yourself, you’ll have given so much of yourself away! You deserve better than that.

Don’t Stick Around People Who Make You Feel Lesser

Think about the people you are surrounding yourself with. How do they make you feel? If any of those people, and I mean ANY, make you feel like you need to change then say goodbye. 2018 is the year of letting those people go and be unhappy elsewhere.

You Are SO Enough

If I could tell you this every morning, I would. You are ENOUGH. For anyone who tells you that you need to change this or that, well they can also be let go. When you let this negativity out of your life, you make so much room for loving, caring, and supporting people to come in!

I hope that this post influences you to become a stronger woman. We all have the ability to create our own happiness and love without anyone trying to change us. You are beautiful just as you are and always enough. Always remember that.
